Between September 7 and 30 of 1916, the New York Giants established a major league record by going 27 straight games without a loss, winning 26 and tying once en route to lifting an otherwise mediocre season to 86-66 and a fourth-place finish. The team's 17-game win streak during that special stretch is commemorated in this Piedmont cigarette advertisement, which shows nearly identical shots of George Burns and Arthur Fletcher fielding grounders.
The poster measures 18.5x12.5" and is folded with a small tear on the right fold, otherwise EX-MT.
