2-Strand Necklace featuring Akoya Cultured Pearls from Japan. Pearls: 111 cream/white cultured pearls (7.02 to 8.03mm) strung on a white cord, hand-knotted. Clasp: 3-strand sterling silver, gold plated (some plating worn). The pearls were cultured in Akoya saltwater oysters. These "tadpole" pearls, harvested in the 1960s, showcase a thick nacre and luster, indicating 3-4 years in the water before harvesting. From the estate of Ann # 39. Kept in a box when not worn.
