Anhanguera blittersdorffi skull fossil cast replica. This is a solid resin cast of the skull from the piscivorous pterosaur, Anhanguera blittersdorffi. This species had an ornamented snout and a bite weaker than a house cat.
Pterosaurs were well adapted for flight with light, strong bones and a strong wing membrane reinforced by criss-crossing protein fibers. Some believe they had a body covering of fuzzy pincofibers, but this is unproven. Pterosaurs were awkward on the ground, crawling on all fours with limbs extended at strange angles, making them easy prey when injured. As-is condition.
