Custom-made, one-of-a-kind Antebellum/Civil War era dress. Never worn!
Pale, butter yellow, cotton dress with a tiered, gathered skirt featuring alternating solid and gingham check flounces. The bodice has a shallow sweetheart front and an off-the-shoulder neckline. The bodice is gingham except for the center front panel and puff sleeves, which are solid. The center front panel features lace detail. Sleeves have a double puff with gingham detail at the center gathers and cuff. The bodice is lightly boned, fully lined, and laces up the back with matching grosgrain ribbon. Hook and loop connect the bodice to the skirt waistband at the sides.
Recommended hand washing, but the pre-shrunk cotton fabric and non-metal boning allow for gentle cycle machine wash.
Measurements:
Bust 44" (laced fully closed as shown on the mannequin)
Waist 32-34" (adjustable slightly by moving the hook & eye closure at the center back)
Length: 52" from the nape of the neck to the hem.
Suitable for use with a hoop skirt foundation or multiple layers of crinoline to create fullness.
Best for a buxom lady around 5'4"-5'6".
