Antique sunflower painting on canvas. Dimensions: 13”H x 7.5” W.
Attribution: Believed to be painted by Mary Meixner, Wisconsin artist. Canvas mounting and varnish suggest early 1900s origin, consistent with M. Meixner’s activity starting in 1916. Iowa State University, which holds a collection of Mary Meixner’s work, suggested it could be an early work due to amateur-ish craftsmanship, fitting the early 1900s timeline.
