Antique Victorian Art Nouveau Plaster Chalkware Bust Statue Woman Original Paint

This is an antique plaster or chalk ware statue of a woman named CARMEN.<br><br>Given its Art Nouveau look, I would estimate it dates circa 1890s or 1900s, though it may be a little earlier or later.<br><br>It measures 22 inches tall x 11 inches wide x 9 inches deep (56 cm, 28 cm, 23 cm). The base measures 5 1/4 inches wide in each direction (13.3 cm).<br><br>I believe this represents Carmen from the opera with the same name. There is much about it to read.<br><br>The paint on this is definitely original. I believe there are some scattered touchups, but they were done many years ago and they blend in well.<br><br>The statue has a number of scattered nicks, dings and chips to the surface. The base has a small crack line going through it. Still, it is a very solid and sturdy piece.<br><br>It definitely has a distressed, yet beautiful look about it.<br><br>It weighs 10 lbs. 3 oz. (4.6 kg).
