A very solid antique item with heavy ornate embellishments of gilted metal and bronze. Amazingly, all marcasite stones are present on both containers. This Châtelaine has four parts: a purse (possibly sterling silver with hand-hammered details and hand-sewn detailing), a longer tube container (fastened shut, presumed for holding sewing needles with thick metal scrollwork), a smaller container (opens to a miniature pin cushion, has all marcasite stones), and a largest container (fastened shut by age, ornate metal work, hand cut black glass stones on each end). Combined weight of 156 grams. A beautiful item, intended to be hung from larger hoop skirts during the Victorian era. Being sold as-is.
