Authentic Civil War relic: Federal (Union) cavalry spurs, Model 1859, with foliate-style adornment. Excavated in Virginia (near Bristow Station, Kettle Run battlefield, and Catlett Station). Brass with iron rowel. Lightly cleaned, showing greenish patina.
Excavated on private property with permission. Matching set. Missing most of the iron rowels. One spur is disfigured (possibly in battle?). Otherwise, in great condition for being 150+ years old. Sold as-is.
A significant piece of US history.
