Mens HASTE de Lux of Mexico vintage 50's mechanical set & wind 17j Swiss made

This very unique timepiece from Haste, ( H.A.Steele & Co.) was made by Buren watch co. a Swiss maker for Haste. The design has a definite Aztec appeal with its step lines around the perimeter. The dial also has a hatch look to it further adding to its Mexico feel. The H.A.Steele Co. of Mexico was a long time supplier of pocketwatches for the Mexican railroad and also became a supplier of their wristwatches. The case is rolled gold, a much heavier finish than just electroplating and has a very unique and rare appearance. The movement, a 410 Buren Swiss made polished multiplate system has 17 jewels and has been serviced and keeps decent time for a watch that is 70+ years old. It also has a unique mark on the caseback of a 1d inside a circle with rays extending from it.
