Vintage original 1957 movie poster insert (14”x36”) for “An Affair to Remember”, classic doomed romance melodrama directed by Leo McCarey & starring Cary Grant & Deborah Kerr as a couple who, after meeting on a ship, agree to meet at the top of the Empire State Building in 6 months' time in order to test the strength of their love. Unfortunately, fate intervenes in this remake of the 1939 "Love Affair." The insert is the best design from the film, considered 1 of the greatest tearjerkers of all time.
Film is ranked #5 on AFI’s 100 Years…100 Passions list & nominated for 4 Academy Awards. McCarey was nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement by Directors Guild of America (DGA). Artwork in the poster is really wonderful & captures the sentiment of the iconic & much-loved film. The poster has a few minor tears & separations in the border. It has discoloration along portions of upper folds mostly restricted to the back only & a tiny separation in the right edges of upper folds backed by restoration tape.
