Here is a wonderful arts and crafts piece of art pottery made by The J.B. Owens Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The piece is known as a "Handled Mug" and it is done in Owens deep rich matte green glaze. The mug is a nice cabinet size as it stands 4 1/2" tall and has a diameter of 4"outside handle measurement. The bottom of the mug has a diameter of 2 314".<br><br>The mug has a corseted shape with a triangular applied handle. The mug displays a wonderful pattern of embossed grapes grapes and vines on each side of the mug. I call this my Grapevine Mug. This mug has a wonderful deep matte green glaze that is pretty uniform throughout.<br><br>The mug is considered to be in very good to excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips or major dings.<br><br>Owens pottery started producing art pottery in 1896. <br><br>This mug was made circa 1898-1905.
