Rare Antique English Minton Majolica Jug/Pitcher, circa 1868. A rare find with the likely pewter lid included. An incredibly beautiful piece of art and history.
A handsome majolica jug with lid, cobalt blue background. Features a yellow glazed mask of a gentleman on the spout. Ring turning below a scrolled handle, globular shaped body decorated with raised yellow glazed four leaf clover devices. Stands on a raised ring turned foot.
Underside with impressed marks including "Minton", model number "496", impressed date cypher and decorator's mark. The 'G' mark dates it to 1868.
Condition: Excellent, no damage or restoration.
