Subject matter concerns the first significant protest march on Washington D.C., including "Coxey's Army," in 1894. Farmers & blue collar workers were protesting the widespread unemployment caused by what became known as the "Panic of 1892-1896," which proved to be the worst recession/depression in U.S. history up to that time. The object of the march was to pressure the government for passage of a jobs bill, to include the building of roads & other public works, along with the adoption of a paper currency economic model. 247pp
