1945 German Casige Child's Learning Size Sewing Machine - Gesch Model # 1449. This vintage Casige sewing machine features a vibrant red color. Marked "Casige Made in Germany "British Zone"" on the sew plate, dating it to the post-WWII period. Gesch.M 1449. This machine has an enclosed frame, which covers the mechanisms, and is an earlier design. Condition is very good, making it a wonderful collector's item.
History: The Allied powers divided Germany after WWII. These machines were designed for children to learn sewing, perfect for making doll clothes. Era: 1945. Marked: CASIGE Made in Germany British Zone (Gesch. M 1449). Measures: 8.625” wide, 5” deep, 7” tall.
