Vintage 70s Napier Plique a Jour Enamel Butterfly Brooch Pin. Runway Ad Couture RARE and hard to find.
Plique a Jour is an enamel technique similar to cloisonne, where enamel is applied in cells allowing light to shine through like stained glass. A similar Napier pin with different colored "cells" was featured in a magazine ad in 1971 (see photo).
Pin Measures 1-1/2" x 1". Signed on the butterfly body "Napier". Excellent Pre-owned Estate Condition - STUNNING.
