Vintage (c. 1950s) hand-carved milk container known as Akarum among the Turkana and Samburu tribes of Kenya. This piece is being sold AS-IS. Missing its lid and has a broken section (see photos).
Akarum were treasured, mended when broken, and used for years, playing a vital role in these tribal societies. Dimensions: 15.5" Tall x 7" Diameter. A beautiful addition to any African art collection.
