Vintage Antique Shell Cameo in Fine Silver. This lovely carved shell cameo functions as both a brooch and a pendant. It features a tube hinged bale that tucks away when worn as a pin.
The ornate oval frame is likely fine silver (unmarked). The clasp is a C clasp, dating to the early 20th century or earlier. The pin has a tube hinge, likely from the 1800s. Estimated to be from the mid-1800s.
The cameo is a detailed carved shell portrait. Overall measures about 1¼” x 1⅝”, in good condition. Sourced from a retired jeweler in the 1960s. Sold AS-IS due to age. #vintagecameo #antiquependant #shellbrooch
