Vintage Extra large Terracotta Earthen Cooking Pan. Heavily Glazed. Italian origin. 28 2 embossed. Approximately 16" to handle.
From a large collection of vintage items. Heavily glazed inside and out. The glaze ends at the base of the piece.
The base has 14 distinctive concentric circles embossed on the non-glazed base. Also embossed in circles are the number 28 and then opposite (or upside down) 2.
Handmade. 16" from the handle to the end of the dish/pan. The bowl is 11". The round handle is 4 1/2" long with a circumference of 6".
At the deepest point the dish measures 3 1/2". It almost appears that the dish leans a bit toward the handle side.
Very heavy at 4 lbs. 6 ozs.
Beautiful display piece or totally functional cooking dish.
The glaze is fantastic. This piece was never used. Very minor chips along a few spots of the rim, really not noticeable.
