Vintage Japanese cotton fireman kimono coat with intricate sashiko stitching. Ideal for collectors or those interested in Japanese culture. Provenance is unknown.
This cotton hikeshi-banten (fireman jacket) is modeled after Edo era (1603-1867) fireman's uniforms. Now worn by fire brigade members at events and festivities. Dark black sashiko cotton with three red stripes across the shoulders and four white stripes across the middle. Medium-to-heavy weight woven cotton, soft and comfortable. Best fit is a Women's XL or Men's Large. Sold AS-IS due to vintage nature.
