It is tear-resistant, lightweight, and functional. It is the final 5th model, which underwent five major revisions. The final 5th model, adopted from 1969-70, has a simplified design compared to the 4th model, with the V-shaped gussets on the cuffs omitted.<br>The distinctive slanted chest pockets are designed to make it easier to retrieve items even when lying down in combat. The exposed buttons used in the 1st model and the epaulettes used in the 1st and 2nd models were discontinued.
