Vintage M1917 US Civil Defense/Military Helmet, likely from WW1 to early WW2 era. Altered condition with brown exterior paint over original white. Features an old Navy anchor pin secured on the front.
Interior is heavily pitted and worn. The remaining canvas liner is dilapidated and dry-rotted with rusty attachment points. No chin strap included. Faint "US GOV PROPERTY OCD" marking visible on the inside rim.
