Vintage WWII "Buddy" brooch featuring a Navy Sailor design. Articulated arms and legs. The legs state "My man is in the Navy Hands Off". A rare and collectible piece, often sent to "sweethearts" during the war. Research indicates similar pieces may be found in Leigh Leshner's Collecting Plastic Jewelry, page 120/163, w/an estimated book value of over $200. Measurements: Approximately 2.5" x 1" Dates: Mid-century, c1940 Condition: Pre-owned vintage - in excellent condition for its age with some wear on the sailor's face. All materials are present and hardware is in good working order.
