Vintage Zuni Rainbow Kachina Dancer Brooch, circa 1930s/1940s. This Native American masterpiece tests as Sterling silver and weighs 14.35 grams. Measuring 2 3/8 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide, this brooch is in excellent condition.
Features an extraordinary mosaic of Turquoise, Mother-of-Pearl, Black Jet, and Spiny Oyster Shell stones, set with precision in serrated bezels. Depicts the Rainbow Man, symbolizing life-giving summer rain and the rainbow. Adorned with eight Sterling 'raindrops' on the outer edge and five on the inside edge, and framed by twisted and coiled silver wire work.
