Historical Information: The World War I Victory Medal, designed by James Earle Fraser, was created in 1919. Although a Congressional bill authorizing the medal never passed, the service departments created the award through general orders. The U.S. Army authorized the medal in April 1919, followed by the U.S. Navy in June of the same year. Ideal for collectors of military memorabilia and historical artifacts.
